Mini Saga #85 – Trigger

Transformation begins with a positive trigger.

Mini Saga #85 – Trigger

Ron had severe stage-fright. His coach Steven suggested to speak in a dark and empty auditorium. Ron gave it a try and it worked. He spoke brilliantly for twenty minutes. The lights came on followed with an applause – there were at least a hundred smiling people at the back.

1. A mini saga is a story told in exactly 50 words. Not 49 or 51 but exactly 50.

Mini Saga #86 – Making it happen

A small shift in your approach can lead to a big shift in your results

Mini Saga #86 – Making it happen

John convinced Brad to have regular office hours. Brad was brilliant. Every single day for a year, Brad answered questions from wannabe entrepreneurs.  On Brad’s birthday, there was a book on his table “Q&A with Brad” with a note – “And you thought you couldn’t write a book… – Love, John”

Mini Saga #87 – Path

Being focused is important but one should also learn to spot alternative (and better) paths along the way

Mini Saga #87 – Path

Jim’s childhood friend Charlie was happy and surprised by Jim’s success. What Jim dreamt of doing where he ended up were totally different. Jim changed his goals multiple times, yet was brilliantly successful. Jim happily shared his secret – “I was focused on my goals but kept spotting better goals regularly”

Mini Saga #88 – Difference

** Update ** Thanks to Michael, Vijay and a few others who alerted me that I made a copy/paste error. I have fixed it now.

You can always find a reason to NOT try. Most probably, that reason won’t matter much.

Mini Saga #88 – Difference

Ron was not happy that Jim was favored over him for promotion. Both were given similar responsibilities and both had sort of “failed.” Unable to take it anymore, Ron brought this up with his Boss, John. John smiled, “Jim tried and failed but you ONLY had reasons NOT to try.”

Mini Saga #89 – Footprints

The road less traveled is lonely. The destination is uncertain but the journey is priceless.

Mini Saga #89 – Footprints

Four years. Finally Roger’s startup was showing some promise. Roger was tired – no salary or vacation for months and mostly no weekends. “You could easily have made a ton of money elsewhere,” his friend remarked. Roger smiled, “But the chance to leave your footprints somewhere – before anyone else is priceless”
